Once we had our pintail, we saw many more like this. Considering we saw probably 100X more pintail than all the other ducks combined, the Fish and Wildlife service needs to check the accuracy of their counts. It seems to be like this every year...
You can see another picture 4 pictures later. This is often referred to as a 'storm wigeon'. Their faces and cheeks have noticeably more white on them then a normal wigeon. They are quite striking.
